If all you need is a fast, focused sales pipeline, Pipedrive is usually simpler and cheaper. We give you a straight recommendation based on what you actually need.

Do we need the paid HubSpot hubs, or is the free CRM enough?

It depends on what you are automating. The free CRM covers contact and deal management well; the Marketing, Sales and Service Hubs add the automation, sequences and ticketing that most growing teams eventually need. We recommend the smallest tier that does the job; we do not recommend licences you will not use.
